David Livingstone Memorial

David Livingstone's memorial visitor centre is situated in Blantyre, Scotland. As an attraction it is easy to get to by both rail and car. The visitor centre commemorates the life of Scotland's greatest ever explorer, heading off into africa when it was largely uncharted by Western Europeans. He is also credited with playing a large part in the ending of the slave trade in Britain. The attraction is reviewed here.

This property is presently managed by National Trust for Scotland and this picture shows the outside of what was once his house, now part of the visitor centre.
