I have been asked by quite a few people who are using the Scottish recipes on these pages, where they can purchase the ingredients referred to. Unfortunately this is not an easy question to answer as it will depend mainly on your home country. As a good example of this, perhaps you would like to try the Haggis or whisky recipes. You may live in a country with import restrictions on certain foodstuffs, or live in a country where the sale of alcohol is banned. This clearly would make life a bit difficult.

Below you will find a list of potential suppliers both shops or online foodstuff ingredient suppliers. I cannot recomend any of them as, staying in the UK, I have never required to use any of them. However, some people have told me that the top ones have provided a quick and efficient service for scottish ingredients.

Golspie Mill in Sutherland, is driven by water from the local burn (one of probably only three traditional water mills still working) and has been making a high quality range of flours and meals since being fully restored in 1992.
