Scotlands colleges of further education are often referred to as the cinderella of education. Originally they were set up to provide vocational training they developed their role to provide a combination of vocational training and more general education. If I can quote from the ASCOL(Association of Scottish Colleges) website "There are 46 colleges across Scotland delivering half a million students enrolments each year. The FE sector is the largest provider of lifelong learning in Scotland - reaching 13% of the working age population in Scotland each year.
Scotland's colleges provide easy local access to learning opportunities and are strongly rooted in their communities. By working with a wide range of local partners to deliver high quality and flexible learning which meets the needs of individuals, communities and employers, colleges are transforming lives and transforming Scotland."
The following list will take you to the indiviudal colleges website where you will find much more information on the type of courses they provide and any entrance requirements
