Africa Star 1940 -1943 British Military Campaign Medals Pictures

This may at first seem a strange picture to have on a Scotland for Visitors page. However, this picture of an African Star was taken at the Cameronians Regimental Museum in Scotland. The Africa Star was awarded for 1 or more days service in North Africa between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943. The colours represent the yellow of the sand with the others representing the Army, Navy & Air Force.

The blue on the left is commonly shown as a light blue in most pictures of this medal, however on this ribbon it was a much darker shade of blue and it is not a trick of the light.
