Pork Pea Soup
Many Dannish stews and soups are comfortable and hearty to help ward off the cold weather nights.

- 1/2 kg peas
- 1/2 kg lean bacon
- 4 carrots
- 2 celery roots
- 3 leeks
- 4 onions
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 3 pork sausages
In a deep pan cook bacon, carrots, salt, pepper, celery root, thyme, leeks with 8 cups of water. Cook on low heat for 1 hour until the vegetables are cooked properly and bacon is tender.
Once cooked remove the bacon and vegetables.
Drain the soup and serve with sliced bacon and vegetables on side.
You can serve this soup with bread croutons.
