Beef Roast

Beef Roast is a traditional Swedish main meal dish which is particularly spicy. It can be served "as is" or with lemon and or sauces of choice.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • Butter - 1/2 Cup
  • Chopped Anchovies chopped - 4
  • Salt to taste
  • Peppercorns - 10
  • Vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Beef Chuck - 4 lb
  • Minced Onion 1
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Whiskey


Method:

Add butter to a pan and let it melt. Once the butter is melted add the beef joint cut into slices and fry. Fry until the beef roast turns in to brown colour on all side. Add chopped onions, sugar, bay leaf and fry for 2 min. Add anchovies, peppercorns, vinegar. Add the whiskey and water and cook for 5 min. Once it gets boiled cover with a lid and on low flame cook for 1 hours until the meat cooks properly and becomes tender. Serve Hot.
